Ah, you're going to perpetuate the mistranslation of "Thou shalt not do MURDER."

I dunno, I've heard both claims of translations....

However, "THOU SHALT NOT STEAL" is pretty unambiguous.

Perhaps I'm simply taking back the tax-increase that these Rock the Vote Clinton Clones gave me.

How many Gay Rights, AIDS, anti-gun, anti-hunting, Democratic organizations get my tax money because of the politicians and cronies Hilary and the RIAA supported?

Hard to steal from those who robbed you....

Seems kind of a money-changers in the temple kind of thing...

I see.

Your complaint is less with the RIAA or their artists, and more with a plurality of your fellow citizens because things didn't come out the way you wanted them to.

My five-year-old daughter is far less of a self-centered, spoiled brat than you are.

May I suggest that you seek a consultation with either (a) a therapist willing to give your "inner child" the spanking it seems to so desperately need, or (b) Doctor Jack Kevorkian?

Some people simply want to pretend that their thievery is a noble and sacred cause.

No, it's low and theiving, but in the same vein as 'liberating' the Nazi wine cellars....

No, I'm talking specifically about the RIAA, the artists and the causes they support which are dedicated entirely against our Constitutional Republic.

OK, so now you're proposing a new category of crime: thoughtcrime. Disagreement with chookter equals loss of all rights.

Forgive me if I view that prospect with less than unadulterated joy.

No, it's not disagreement with me.

Let's watch for the next 'Rockers for Choice' 'Rock the Vote' or Million Moron March and see who sponsors it.

I forget who said: "It's too late to work within the system and too early to start shooting the bastards."

I think I'm coming to believe that. Maybe this is all we can do in the meantime.

A Losertarian with impulse control about as bad as your own.

I think I'm coming to believe that.

Those who believe it are spoiled children who throw temper tantrums when they don't get their way, but lack the necessary scrotum to actually DO anything to bring about their vision of liberty.

So, in conclusion, you're a gutless coward, posturing as some sort of noble hero because you use KaZaa.

Please read my posts a little more carefully. As in the post I flagged you to--I was generally ambivalent about this whole thing and marginally on your side until I realized who these people are and what they want.

Now I'm fighting the urge to hurt them by downloading. Your moralistic arguments were working and I was responding to them. I am not a libertarian of any stripe, though I do value liberty. I think they are full of crap.

However, calling me names and misrepresenting my statements isn't working at all.

I guess you would have just stood on the shore and yelled at the participants of the Boston Tea Party to 'Knock it off! Quit stealing the King's tea and get back to work so you can buy it from his company at his inflated prices!"

I guess you would consider the Boston Tea Party an atrocity and some terrible sin. I disagree.

P2P is a good way to find very obscure and out of print music, which is not being sold anyway. Music that is currently on the market is a different matter, imho.

It's also a great way to sample an artist's music before buying.

BTW, for what it's worth...

I would prefer that corporately-owned copyright lapse upon so many years after issuance OR a lesser number of years out of print.

Just my thoughts.

And, again, if the new music is so awful...

Why is it worth the time and energy to steal?

Poolibar is right. It's stealing.

Killing is not wrong. Murder is wrong. Murder implies motive. The commandment in Hebrew was "Thou shalt not murder"

Killing in a war started by the other side is not wrong, it's justifiable. Jesus talked to soldiers and never once told them to stop being soldiers.

I'm not saying it's not. It's low thievery and if it hurts those angry lesbian anti-american, anti-freedom, anti-rights bastards it is a great good.

Is dressing up as injuns and throwing a load of the King's Company's tea into Boston Harbor stealing?

No, it's destroying someone else's property. BTW, that property did not belong to the King; it belonged to private citizens.

Tell ya what: I am philosophically opposed to property taxes, so whaddaya say I burn down YOUR frickin' house to protest them?

Hmmmmm. That would probably be deemed an act of war or protest. That would be vandalism not stealing since they didn't take it for themselves. An act only justified because of the lack of representation effectively reduced the colonies to slavery.

I'm not sure you have any moral justification for stealing. It's not like "those angry lesbian anti-american anti-freedom anti-rights bastards" aren't operating under the laws your duly elected officials set up.

And the only difference between low thievery and grand larceny is the amount.

Yeah, but its the anti-american, anti-freedom, anti-rights bastards who are essentially picking the officials and their agendas with the funds we are giving them.
