The Green Leaf Party leadership was hosted by the US Embassy on Thursday to enable the embassy political staff to get to know the party's ideas and plans if it is elected to the Knesset.
No. 2 on the Green Party list, Canadian born Dan Goldenblatt said he was buoyed by the invitation, since the embassy usually only invites parties that are already in Knesset.
Goldenblatt said the meeting focused mainly on the party's cannabis legalization views and its environmental platform. He said the US officials were interested in knowing whether the party supports other drugs besides cannabis.
Green Leaf is polling at close to the electoral threshold. But Goldenblatt said that he is optimistic about the party's chances of winning seats, given the margin of error in polls and the fact that many Green Leaf voters are not polled because they are not heads of households

Interesting. Canada has a Marijuana Party and I've seen web pages on how to start one, but considered it too far out there to the left.

Hell, it's easy to start a Marijuana party. First, buy an ounce or so of marijuana, and a pack of rolling papers at the local gas station. Then put some CD's on and invite all your friends. Be sure to order out for a bunch of pizzas, because everyone's going to get hungry in about an hour. Pretty soon you'll have one hell of a marijuana party.

Green Leaf voters are not polled because they are not heads of households. Au contraire, mon frere!

The Green Leaf party also has a really weird political ad running. Peace symbols, wild colours, etc. It really stands out vs the other ads that have been run over there.
One thing I enjoy is that each party has a theme song that is usually played in their ads. Like to see a bit of that here in the US. :)

That is the same with me. I love listening to their songs and watching their ads. More lively election campaigining in Israel then USA. I downloaded all the songs and ads I could find off their websites.
The best song I think is the National Union Party (right-wing) and the Likud Party one.

yonif, do you happen to have a website for the Green party? In English or Hebrew.
Many here(FR) went crazy when Begala and Carville were sent to Israel on behest of Barak to clip Bibi's lead with American-styled negative attack propaganda ads.
It's very likely that this Rosenblatt just walked into a State Dept. trap of similar design, or was given the once over to make sure he was going to be a side show clown, and not a Labor coalition partner.
jmc813, how does this relate to the US WOD? You are aware that hashish smoking in Israel has been a continuously enjoyed social activity for over 3400 years, right?

Hahahaha! Why am I not surprised that you and Wolfie would have a laughfest over a headline that is misleading.
Oh well Ms. Gilbert looks like with this headline is putting her resume in for a "poisition" at the New York Times.
And yes "poisition" is a play on words about the New York City dialect and the "poisonous" headlines the New York Times directs at Israel.
Just thought I would clarify that for you two while you two are praying to your bongs.

Yo, short-bus rider Daney-boy.
You ARE thick. We were laughing over the ambiguity of 'heads of households'.
Sheesh!

Ah, but the problem is getting them out to vote!

You sound like "The Voice of Experience". LOL

Israeli Network has been running the ads for 30 minutes every so often. I didn't get a chance to watch any last night because the electricity kept going out (snow storm). Even though I can't understand a word, I get a kick out of them. (Roomie is Jewish and is trying to relearn the language, thus why I have any exposure at all)
