At this point, the authorities have stated that Scott has not been connected to that case, and there was never information that they had dated. Unfortunately, there was some bad reporting, by Fox as that story broke. Both Scott and Laci attended the same college as Kristin Smart, who disappeared 7 years ago. Scott was among the many students on campus who were sent a letter asking them to come forward and speak to authorities( not because they suspected him of anything, just because they were students on campus). Scott never replied to the letter and the police never tried to follow up as he was not a suspect.

OMG, post 130! So now it's all coming out.

And I don't know why people have trouble with the NE (sure, some of their stories are from kooksville, but not all). It's revealed information over the years that other papers are just too lazy to look for--or maybe I should say don't want to pay for, because the NE will pay to get the story.
