I see today's thread is a serious one. Thank you JH2 for your excellent points. If you don't mind, I would like to add one more. As we found out years after Carter's election, he and the democRAT party elite were actually meeting with foreign powers - Russia etc. - asking them to help fight Reagan's election. SEDITION!

Now just a week ago, a Clinton administration member, Bill Richardson, was contacted by an "Axis of Evil" and MET WITH THEIR REPRESENTATIVES, bypassing the Elected Current Administration and President Bush - on our own soil!

There is no doubt in my mind that Clinton et al are communicating and WORKING WITH, abetting, our country's enemies. Today. Now. Even in the face of war. Bill Clinton wanted to fight against a dangerous madman, Saddam, and enjoyed total support by the RATS in Congress and the Senate. Now, when their own country and its citizens' lives hang in the balance, these same RATS are opposed to fighting the madman - to the man and woman - Because a Republican holds the presidency.

I believe they work WITH our enemies to bring him down. And OUR country, be damned. They will gladly even surrender our own sovereignty to an unelected foreign body - the "United" Nations. NEVER NEVER NEVER vote to allow traitors such as these to hold power. They hold it over our very lives!

Isn't this disgusting and disgraceful? I would never have believed, when I was young, that this could ever happen in MY country. Things that would have been unthinkable not all that many years ago are routinely tolerated by apathetic and ignorant Americans who don't deserve the privileges and freedoms of their American citizenship. It is discouraging to see what we are up against.

You are surely correct. When the Chinese held our aircrew hostage, Colin Powell told state department officials not to attend a special reception for the new Chinese ambassador at the Chinese Embassy -- less than a mile from where I now post this.

But that evening, as I held protest signs outside the Chinese embassy in one of my first Freeps, I saw Clintonistas from the Clinton State Department come and go.

Even though the current state department had said no, these Democraticos were running their own parallel diplomacy and still gracing the new ambassador with their presence. Even as our air crew was held hostage. If you can imagine.

I remember one of them driving off and I yelled "Traitor!" He angrily said to me: "I fought in World War II!" And just before his door shut, we explained, "For which side?" This well-dressed, good-looking elderly gentleman flipped me the bird. Such classy people. They hate Republicans more than they love our country.

Glad to see you two have arrived.

Billie kindly has assisted me with posting something I compiled my last year in Alaska - that of '65-'66.
I daily clipped the weather things from the newspaper and made a collage of some.

She wasn't able to get them all "shaped down", but I truly appreciate her help.

Here was some of my reality of the time!

Others said:
If You Add the Chill Factor It Was -70, and the high -50 degrees.

March 16 - Low last night -36; high yesterday 5; low tonight -39; high tomorrow -5.

Spring in Air,But Where?
"- - forecasting a bracing -30 tonight, with promises of even colder weather.
So far this month, with the beginning of spring just a few days away, Fairbanks temperatures have averaged almost 27 degrees below normal.
And the closest we've come to normal this month was a balmy 8 degrees back on March 6.

May 21 - Low last night 34, high yesterday 53. low tonight 32, high tomorrow 55.

June 19 - Longest Day of The Year.
Sunrise at 12:59 a.m. -sunset at 10:48 p.m. - for a total of 21 hours 41 minutes sunlight.

(In between was a kind of twilight - not really dark!)

Diver Dave - Spring comes very late in Fairbanks!!

Hi, Lib. You have every reason to feel the way you do - we all do - I get so angry when I see Daschle on one of the morning shows I could strangle him.....and Lieberman - who can even LISTEN to him talk without wanting to go unpinch his nose. But it isn't just how they speak, it's what they say.....it wouldn't matter if our President wanted to give the democrats a standing ovation for their deeds, they'd sit in defiance anyway. Just whatever Bush says, they're going to oppose him, regardless, just because it's what they do.
