Agreed, although somehow I doubt her replacement will be any better.
To: mhking
Can I safely assume that you are opposed to copyright laws? :^}
To: mhking
Probably threw her back out dragging all that cash to the Congress.

Rosen cited personal reasons for leaving the Recording Industry Association of America
Must have been the daily threats from file swappers.

In general? No.
But I am opposed to draconian measures that have virtually destroyed the emerging streaming media industry.

I'm good with that. Details are details, but the larger concepts are the important things. At least to me.

Agreed, although somehow I doubt her replacement will be any better. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Apparently, she caught one of her children singing "When You Wish Upon a Star," realized it was a copyright infringement, and had to file a civil suit. A real mess.

The release time between a film's cineplex appearance and DVD issuance is shrinking. Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets is coming out on DVD April 11th. It was out in theaters in November. A result of downloading?
People want their movies in their homes ASAP.

Perhaps the business heads at the record companies have finally figured out that their trade association has been treating their customers as the enemy. But perhaps not. Let's see what they bring in next. If it's just another snapping turtle from the legal side, it means they've learned nothing. |

"File swapping"... isn't that the new politically correct term for that silly, out-of-date, old-fashioned word... what was it... oh yeah -- STEALING?
