Fundamentally, we believe that the U.S. government needs to devote more resources and put in place new programs to build wider expertise about China and to protect our industrial base from eroding as a result of our economic relations with China.

I thought we might beat them, as their one-boy policy would make them a nation of brats. But we have compromised ourselves too much, we are weak and mean. Our sole remaining strength is in our health care industry -- which is fine, but it is too little.
