The more law enforcement officers that are disarmed in crowd
situations the more powerful criminals can become.

Lets see, if peasants as one poster cited cant carry Guns then why should off duty cops.

Well the more badges and Guns in the crowd situations after 9-11 the better, is my take. If it was'nt for alot of Off Duty Cops and Fireman giving up their lives in New York and Oklahoma City, many lives would not be saved.

I would rather trust a licensed Gun in the Crowd than otherwise.

Please tell us how the armed off duty cops helped out during 911?
Now, if the common citizens were armed on the highjacked airplanes we would be much better off.
My hope is a country free of government agents waving metal detectors over its citisens.
