DNA has nothing to do with determining whether or not someone died of smoke inhalation.

Uh, I realize that....If they DID NOT die from smoke inhalation, there was another cause....which DNA does have something to do with.

make that "if" there was another cause. I have not read everything on the story so I am not sure that claim is even true. I think the cause was "asphixiation"....
