He is obviously addicted to this. He has probably done it for a long time. Even while he was in Iraq. Where, Iraqi agents probably took some very nice photos of him and some children. Hence his sudden and loud change of mind regarding the Iraqi's.

OR, remember he said he didn't take money from Iraq? Perhaps they are paying him with little girls when he visits.

The Iraqis are not stupid. It was the same way in Panama with Ted Kennedy. He was on the committe to handle the canal treaty and was constantly running down to Panama to have discussions with various folks...except it was off at some resort and Panamanian politicans provided younger women to entertain Ted constantly. They probably had cameras in Ted's room and caught every act....so they had the advantage of negotiation when the Americans finally got serious.

My guess is that Ritter did the same thing and they urged him to provide a clean cover for the regime. He complied and thought it would be simple. It got him on CNN, and helped make him a major Iraqi supporter in the media.
