Area citizens joined hands Monday to honor the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Alexandria Convention Hall was filled with praise and worship as the words of local and state clergymen mixed with video presentations of King's "I Have A Dream" speech.

I have also noticed that in the past few years, even conservatives are now observing King Day, after initial reluctance due to the late minister's communist-front associations, adultery, and plagiarism. After all, it was Reagan who signed the "King Day" law.
