Accomplishments of the United Nations:
1. Appeased/done nothing to every dictator or regime that has existed. Despite billions given by US.

2. Failed to feed the starving around the world but their leadership manages to eat luxury foods during their conferences. Despite billions given by US.

3. Demand billions from the US.

4. Put nations that have the worst record on human rights in charge of improving the worlds human rights, while removing the nation with the best human rights record (US).

5. Used an incompotent inspector who told us Iraq had no WMD and that N. Korea had no WMD, and was proven wrong, to inspect yet again wether or not Iraq has WMD.

6. Other failures/incidents/acts of stupidity/acts of evil too numerous to mention.

7. ADD TO LIST: Used a pedophile to find weapons of mass destruction. The fate of millions of innocent people were in the hands of a pervert. I guess Michael Jackson was too busy with another "surgery/mutilation". Maybe they can send in Pete Townsend?

Report: Former U.N. Inspector Scott Ritter Arrested in Internet Sex Sting

Tuesday, January 21, 2003

ALBANY, N.Y. — A former U.N. weapons inspector was arrested in 2001 during an Internet sex sting operation and was under investigation for a similar incident months before his arrest, according to published reports.

The arrest of Scott Ritter, 41, who served as a weapons inspector in Iraq from 1991-98, was first reported by The Daily Gazette of Schenectady on Saturday.

Ritter, an outspoken critic of President Bush's plans for war against Iraq, was arrested in June 2001 for allegedly trying to lure a 16-year-old girl he met on the Internet to a Burger King restaurant.

[Ritter's attorney, Norah Murphy, told WNYT-TV in Albany that her client was arrested in June 2001, but she would not discuss the details of the case because the records have been sealed.]

The underage girl turned out to be an undercover investigator posing online as a minor as part of a police investigation of Internet sex crime, and Ritter was charged with attempted endangerment of a child, the Daily News reported Sunday. The misdemeanor carries a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail.

WNYT reported at the time that Ritter, whose full name is William Scott Ritter Jr., allegedly tried to meet the girl so she could watch him perform sexual acts on himself.

Albany County Assistant District Attorney Cynthia Preiser agreed to have the case adjourned in contemplation of dismissal, meaning the charge would be dropped if Ritter stayed out of trouble for six months, and the case was subsequently sealed, the newspaper said.

Two months earlier, Ritter, a former Marine intelligence officer, tried to meet a 14-year-old girl he chatted with online and was instead met by police officers, the Times Union of Albany reported Tuesday. Ritter was released without being charged.

Ritter was scheduled to leave for Iraq late Tuesday after a signing in San Diego Monday for his book Endgame: Solving the Iraq Crisis and could not be reached for comment.

When contacted by the Gazette last Friday, Ritter denied any knowledge of the incidents.

"Sorry, you must have the wrong person," Ritter told the newspaper.

District Attorney Paul Clyne fired Preiser last week because he said she failed to inform him about a "sensitive" case, but would not say what the case was.

"Legally and ethically, I cannot comment on any matter which has been sealed," Clyne told The Associated Press.

A telephone listing for Preiser was not available.

After serving as a U.N. weapons inspector for seven years, Ritter resigned in 1998, saying Iraq remained "an ugly threat" and the Clinton administration was doing too little about it. He also said he felt the United States was manipulating the inspections effort for political purposes.

I guess we should believe him that it is another William Scott Ritter Jr. who is now in his 40s and was a weapons inspector. There are probably at least 20 of those in his little town. :)

A story from Schenectady Daily Gazette.

Report: Former U.N. Inspector Arrested In Sex Sting
Ritter Leaves For Iraq Tuesday

POSTED: 11:31 a.m. EST January 21, 2003

A former U.N. weapons inspector was arrested during an Internet sex sting operation and was under investigation for a similar incident months before his arrest, according to reports published in the Schenectady Daily Gazette.

The newspaper reported that Scott Ritter was arrested in June 2001 for allegedly trying to lure a 16-year-old girl he met on the Internet to a fast-food restaurant.

The underage girl turned out to be an undercover police officer posing online as a minor as part of a sting operation. Ritter was charged with attempted endangerment of a child. The case was adjourned in contemplation of dismissal and was subsequently sealed.

Two months before that arrest, Ritter allegedly tried to meet a 14-year-old girl he chatted with online and was instead met by police officers. The Albany Times Union reported that he was released without being charged.

The incidents are being reported by The Daily Gazette of Schenectady, WNYT-TV of Albany and the Times Union of Albany.

The Gazette says an Albany prosecutor had agreed to have charges dropped if Ritter stayed out of trouble for six months.

When contacted about the reports, Ritter told the paper, "Sorry, you must have the wrong person."

The 41-year-old former Marine served as a weapons inspector in Iraq in the 1990s. He has been an outspoken critic of President George W. Bush's plans for war against Iraq.

Meanwhile, Tuesday, Ritter was calling on the Bush administration to seek peace instead of war.

That was his main message in San Diego, where he was discussing his book "Endgame: Solving the Iraq Crisis."

Ritter, a resident of Delmar, N.Y., an Albany suburb, says nearly all of Iraq's chemical, biological and nuclear weapons were accounted for and destroyed four years ago.

He called last week's discovery of empty warheads in Iraq "minor." Ritter served as chief weapons inspector in Iraq from 1991 to 1998.

He resigned, partly because he said weapons inspectors were being used to justify the bombing campaign against Iraq. Ritter is scheduled to leave for Iraq late Tuesday.

I thought that most people did serious jail time for soliciting minors over the internet, and following through. Ritter actually MET the FBI at the "designated place," expecting to meet a minor girl.

There are numerous stories right here at FR that detail others who went to jail bigtime for the same thing. How did he get off with a warning?

I don't see the cuteness, Yaya. LOL

I think there was more than being charmed, seeing as she lost her job over it. She was a seasoned prosecutor, not some naive young thing, star-struck and so on. JMO.

I sure was glad to see on FR tonight that FOX has the story courtesy of the AP, and a very well written synopsis of what is known to date it is. Then O'Reilly was talking about it, but I was called away before I could personally hear what was said.
