Basketball player. Played at UCLA some 25 years ago and in the NBA.

Nah, Bill isn't a stupid baseball player, he's a stupid ex-basketball player and sportscaster. He knows nothing but basketball.
The network should see that he keeps his opinions to himself.

Great minds think alike...

I hate that! Wal-Mart is next door to my sub division and it is so convenient. Oh, well! Target is just around the corner. Saddam and OBL must be buds of his.

Yes, but on the other hand my garbage man likes Bush and thinks we should go to war, and he's at least as qualified as Walton to speak on the subject.
Maybe more qualified - he holds down an honest job, and hasn't spent most of his career claiming he can't work because of injury.
To: LSUfan
Oh, well then, what are we waiting for? If a guy who played basketball twenty someting years ago says it, lets get it into gear, remove Bush immediately. Get rid of Sharon too.
Basketball players know a lot more than us regular folks, they're very tall you know. Almost like Hollywood stars.

Bill Walton is a sports broadcaster who played for UCLA and in the NBA. He was originally famous for being a deadhead in addition to a very good ballplayer.
He has a curious penchant for deciding a storyline early in a sports broadcast and beating it into the ground until there is insurmountable evidence against his storyline at which point he changes his mind.
Sounds like normal liberal think except for the change in mind.

Walton was/is a mega-hippie, no surprise there.

Basketball player. Played at UCLA some 25 years ago and in the NBA. Bit of an exaggeration to call him a player. He spent most of his 'career' not playing because of one injury or another. This is probably because he's a devoté of some variety of hippy macrobiotic diet, that ensured he didn't have an adequate supply of protein, minerals and vitamins. Now it looks like the rot has spread to his brain.
To: LSUfan
I can't stand to watch any coverage that includes this guy.

Didn't he have a romantic fling with that brainwashed American terrorist Patty Hearst way back when?
To: UB355
Me neither. Half the time you just want to reach thru the TV and slap him.

Bill Walton probably has more cognitive ability than your average NBA player. He was admitted to and attended Stanford Law School, though I don't think he ever graduated. I recall seeing him hobbling around the Stanford campus on crutches.
Such smarts in no way detracts from his ability to make idiotic statements. "There are some ideas so stupid only a professor can believe them."

Walton should stick to what he's good at: getting stoned, goldbricking and hanging out with people like Jack and Micki Scott.
