If being a "moderate" in today's Washington means going out of your way to thwart the will of current federal law, send a vital industry into bankruptcy and hold the health of America's children hostage, someone may have to redefine the term.

Instead of looking for some issue of principle, the writers of this piece should simply have checked the records to see how much money these three "moderates" have received from the trial lawyers. The trial lawyers own the Senate democrats, and perhaps these republican moderates think they can get in on the cash, but those same trial lawyers would probably finance any democrat opponent in their next general election. Here's the way the racket works: the democrats derail tort law reform, and the trial lawyer supply millions of dollars (40% of all democrat funding). The costs of runaway litigation are then buried in the cost of products you buy, so you pay for it. Then, there is the problem of certain things just becoming unavailable because of trial lawyers - in some areas, certain vital medical procedures are simply no longer available.

How about the unavailability of vaccines for contagious diseases?
That's what this whole article is about.
