I actually hung out for one night with Keith Richards about two years ago. He is a pleasant, good natured alcoholic, actually a decent guy as far as I could tell.

My eyes watered at his non-stop cigarette chain smoking. This continued when he got up on stage at the small Blues club to play with the band. He put his cigarette into the frets of his guitar and toked between numbers.

I can also assure you that Mr. Richards doesn't give a rat's *ss for Mayor Bloomberg's prohibition.

Yeah the stones are pretty slick, they are probobly laughing about this today.Keith likely chain smokes in order to handle the incredible amount of stress performing in front of large amounts of people causes him.I would have liked to see what would have gone down had the good mayor tried to walk on stage and grab the cigarette off the headstock of his guitar.Might have been a broken telecaster after it was all over. How the hell did he know they were smoking on stage anyway.I can just hear the report now:we have an urgent situation-Keith Richards is smoking a cigarette on stage.Big emergency.

Neither should anyone else.

A little well-placed civil disobedience might just remind these fascist elitists who they actually work for.
