This is crazy! If Drudge got this right, then Bloomberg ordered the police to arrest two entertainers, thus shutting down the show. THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN RIOTS! The fans would have torn the place apart. Even that ass, Bloomberg, could not be THAT stupid. (Could he?) (On the other hand...)

"THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN RIOTS!"
Probably why the police sat on their hands offstage.
They didn't want to have to deal with a riot.
Better to be B*itched at by the idiot mayor than have to try and hold back a stampede of people, especially if it can be avoided by not doing something stupid due to a stupid law.

I didn't know he ever left.

Keith is pretty laidback no doubt. And I have always rated him an ace guitarist.Performing in front of large numbers of people is stress inducing even when you know the material inside and out as you know you have to produce.Keith should be able to smoke a whole pack at once if he wishes,I think we would agree on that.

If I had been the Stones, I would have invited all the cops
backstage and to the aftershow parties, and said, "Say, mates, what exactly are you going to do to us now?" It would be the highlight of the cops entire lives.

Civil disobedience is the only answer.
If every smoker in New York City "lit up" what on earth could they do? Arrest them? Where would they put them? Fine them? Who's going to process the paperwork and who would pay the fine anyway?
NYC tax dollars at work!
The departed members of the Rat Pack are rolling over in their graves, laughing!!!

"The mayor sent cops to issue summonses," one stage source told the DRUDGE REPORT late Saturday. "But the cops watched the show, off stage, by a monitor, instead of stopping the concert." ROTFLMAO!
..and I sincerely hope that the heroes of 911 enjoyed the show (and a good smoke if they were so inclined.)
Tyrannical laws are made to be broken.

I hope Bloomie told Keef that smoking is bad for his health. I'm sure he would stop if he only knew.

Hitler would be proud of Bloomberg.

Nothing like a reformed prostitute or smoker, huh? I'm convinced Bloomin'idiot only got elected on a Rep. ticket because of 9/11 and the voters' disgust with the domocrats.

Time for We The People to rise up and tell these cheap politicians to "f' off!". And not just about smoking, either. Stupid laws
must be ignored and reviled, along with the stupid politicians who promote them. I'm one of millions sick to death of hearing "if you don't like the laws, change them" - how many ever get changed?
Ignore stupid laws.
FWIW, I have yet to smoke my first cigarette, but I'll fight to support those who wish to do so.

Bloomberg needs to be restrained for his own protection. He is certifiable.

It's odd to see alleged conservatives applauding law-breaking. But then we are talking about the moral-liberal Stones.

I'm not sure that tranqing him and ear tagging him for release into a preserve would be allowed, but it's the only place and arena for him.
Considering that he left reason and intelligence behind.

This is funny but also scary. How did such a busybody get elected mayor of New York City, of all places? Maybe he thought he was really running for the Harper Valley PTA.

I told ya - the Stones may be aged but they're are still the Anarchist Rebels they've always been!

The law that was broken is a stupid law, much like other stupid laws that New York has.
Like the one Cuomo signed a long while ago: It's illegal for you to change a flat on your car on DOT managed highways in the state. Reason: it takes business away from the state.
As far as I know, it hasn't been made to disappear, but it isn't enforced, either.
