Passes Will be Selected by Lottery
Beverly Hills, CA Oscar® fans once again will have the opportunity to gain access to bleacher seats to watch the Academy Awards red carpet arrivals, but this year it will be by luck of the draw.
For the second year applications will be required and the selection process will be done through a random drawing, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today.
Fans interested in tickets for the 300-plus bleacher seats at the Kodak Theatre will have to submit an application form that includes personal information such as name, address, birth date, driver's license and social security numbers. Applications are available now on the Academy's website at www.oscars.org/bleachers or by calling 800-866-9197.
The completed application, along with a recent passport-sized photo, must be mailed to the Academy's coordinating agency on February 11 at the address below:
CMD Bleacher Seat Request
601 Daily Drive, Suite 221 Camarillo,
CA 93010
Forms cannot be hand-delivered or mailed directly to the Academy.
There is a one-day mailing window. Forms must be postmarked by the United States Postal Service, or official postal service of a non-U.S. country, on February 11. Envelopes postmarked on dates prior to or after February 11 will not be opened. Application forms may not be sent via private delivery service such as UPS or FEDEX. Only one form will be accepted per person or group. Multiple entries will be discarded.
The drawing will be held by March 3 and all applicants who successfully met the February 11 postmark criterion will be notified by mail whether or not they were selected for bleacher seats. These letters will be mailed no later than March 7. Those who have been selected also will receive a confirmation letter with seat numbers, general guidelines and instructions on when and where to arrive for admittance to the bleachers.
No one will be admitted without the official Academy confirmation letter. Those attempting to wait outside overnight for admittance will not be permitted to do so.
Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2002 will be presented on Sunday, March 23, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland® and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST. A half-hour arrival segment will precede the presentation ceremony at 5 p.m.

Hmmm....it's about time multicultural & diversity forces turned their ire towards lookism and the blatant discrimination and distinct class of privledged people it creates! [/sarcasm]
If you don't want the intrusion don't sign up to try and go see these self-absorbed egomaniacal leftist twits.
Has anyone went?
Where did I say I didn't have that choice?

Lookism?
Where does it say the photo has to be of your face?
