[history]
Modesto police told Laci Peterson's family that her husband was having an affair and recently took out a $250,000 life insurance policy on her, a family member said Thursday.
Detectives met with Laci Peterson's side of the family Wednesday night to tell them why they believe Scott Peterson is responsible for the disappearance of his 27-year-old pregnant wife, the family member said.

Well, if this story is true, we certainly have motive. We know he had opportunity. So if they can find her body we will have a homicide and put this bugger away for life.

Wow, this is such a big effing surprise. I am just so shocked. </sarcasm> Is there anybody who didn't know this from the beginning? Apart from Scott's mom, I mean?

I think closing the volunteer center says it all. It must be heartbreaking for the family. No family ever wants to consider for a nanosecond that it could be one of them. Now this family just got slapped with that possibility. How sad for them.

I would think initially he told the cops there was no g/f but now that she has surfaced they have him for lying to a police investigation which should give them grounds to bring him in and grill him into confessing.

I can see why the family wouldn't want to go out in public, to the volunteer center, for a while. But...closing it? And I heard they've cancelled the search gathering planned for L.A.
Could they be closer to finding the bodies?
To: Devil_Anse
Yeah, I agree, closing it sounds like surrender.
I'm sure they've luminoled the house and car, I wonder how long it takes to get those results back.

Scott Peterson "I really dont care what people think"
"That's right Scott you really don't care what people think. You don't care what people thought of you smiling and hamming it up at your wife's vigil. You don't care about public opinion or how disrespectful your behavior is to your in-laws. You didn't really care that much about your wife either, when you were cheating on her, and when you went "fishing" on christmas eve. You know what you really care about Scott? Your own ass. I hope to God it fries!"

I wish I could get that video to work.
