FYI, the problem with your attempt was an extra set of quote marks.

There should only be one set of quotes around the URL of the image.

<IMG src="http://www.iloveclocks.com/Cuckoo_I/Cuckoo_Clock__C-2/125L.jpg"> should work.

Don't be discouraged - HTML is wonderful but totally unforgiving.
