Well, lessee, we DID just have a "hit and run" murder here in Houston just the other day. The driver was high on pot. Impaired his faculties, dontchaknow (well, YOU don't, but the ADULTS of this world do).

Whoopee. We have a chapter here. They don't do squat. Too busy getting high I guess. College students are the most apathetic lot there is.

sickbay, first is it you think I am not an adult because I think MJ should be Legal,
or because in your view I smoke pot, which I have never said I do,
Secondly how does this differ from someone high on booze.
each is just as bad, and should be address based on it's own facts.
I believe driving while stoned or drunk should be punished equally.

by the way does it help you prove your point by insulting someone........

And in an ancillary issue, the group decided to proceed with the nomination of the Libertarian slate for the '04 elections, but action was held off for lack of munchables.

Why would any thinking person believe NORML's positions on anything much less a serious topic such as Marijuana use. Big money Financing from the Open Society Institute, and board members such as Barbara Ehrenreich and other left wingers do not make for any serious contribution to the weed issue!

Why would any thinking person believe NORML's positions

We just had an accident in which two people were killed last week here in Northern NJ. The driver was drunk. Should we ban alcohol?

Regardless of the message, political bent, theme whatever my tax dollars shouldn't be going toward political activism of any kind. Pot legalization included. If they got 400 members they should each kick in 5 bucks a month. 2K a month should serve their purposes quite nicely.

and offer no real defense for the failed policy of locking up pot smokers in anal-rape camps.

Yup, same tactics because they, like leftist politicians, painted themselves into a corner long ago. All they have left to fight with is base in nature, primal screaming and flailing about, an animal cornered. Still dangerous, but not to thinking higher life forms that have developed weapons.

Suits me. I grew up in a "dry state" anyway (Alabama). Didn't bother me none. 'Course, I've never touched a drop. Maybe not being addicted has something to do with my clarity of mind on the subject.

I'll see you and raise you: your tax dollars shouldn't be going toward educating somebody else's kids. But once you've submitted to that, it's up to the school's leaders to decide whether political activism has educational value.

So, in your magical world of "Prohibition II", there won't be "Al Capone II"? No speakeasies, no turf battles, no wood alcohol poisonings, no corrupted politicians and law enforcement? In other words, doing the same thing over and expecting different results (a common definition of insanity) really will result in different results?

Hmmm ... let's call the men in white coats ... NOW!

A couple of frosh decide to share their worldly wisdom and that justifies a post on FR? Is the drug lobby getting that desperate after their defeats in the last election?

Please point me to your protest post in MSU web site demands hunting be banned in Michigan.

Is the drug lobby getting that desperate after their defeats in the last election?

I wouldn't know---I'm not part of any "drug lobby."

B-B-B-But, it's for "the General Welfare of the State"!!

it's up to the school's leaders to decide whether political activism has educational value.

It's up to the schadmins but ultimately they are responsible to me, the average joe taxpayer.

Having one right trampled by no means authorizes more trampling dammit!!
