I agree with your post, but I just wanted to note this:

Nobody on FR is an advocate of hard drugs; some of us recognize that 'cure' of anti-drug laws is worse than the disease of drug use.

I didn't mean to insinuate anyone would advocate hard drugs.

There are extremists on FR, but abject stupidity is at a minimum, thankfully.

Here in NY we have some of the toughest drug laws in the US, the so-called Rockefeller laws, that I believe do not serve the public very well. Particularly where marijuana is concerned.

I think we are on the same page.
