[history]
The fine print in Gov. Gray Davis' budget for next year contains unexpected and substantial funding cuts for some of the Bay Area's wealthiest - - and highest-performing -- school districts.
In addition to across-the-board spending cuts facing school districts statewide, 59 affluent districts would lose a prized portion of their property tax revenue and be forced to slash spending up to 36 percent, school administrators said Tuesday.

"It's almost unfathomable that someone could have thought to do this," said Chris Carter, superintendent of schools at the Reed Union District in Tiburon, where cuts are estimated at 15 percent. "It's a disproportionate share on the backs of 5 percent of the school districts." Davis has obviously been to Texas and noted how the "Robin Hood" plan is working. Suck money from property-rich school districts and send it to Larado (buy them all computers - we'll hook up the phone lines later).
Now he only has to emulate our method of bringing our local schools back up to our standards - bake sales.

How much do you want to bet that this guy has no problem with "taxing the rich" to make up the deficit, and wouldn't understand if you pointed out the parallel? Somehow, it doesn't look like such an appealing strategy when it works the other way.

Now even the Bay Area lefties are finding out that nobody is safe when you hand the car keys of government over to the drunken teenagers known as Democrats.

Ah.... Taking a page from The Claremont Decision... This plan ensures that all schools throughout the state are equally under-funded... It's all for 'the children' of course...

Awwwwww... Now are we supposed to feel sorry for the lefties in SF? NOT! The morons in SF & LA voted for the moron in Sacramento. Let them eat cake!

Make sure that whenever you any of us meets up with one of those well-funded school districts, if any of them complain in the slightest, rub their noses in the "it's for the children" mantra. Shame them, make them feel like dirt for daring to not want to help the children...let them know what it feels like to have this BS line thrown at them whenever they try to defend keeping something they worked for. Maybe if enough of them get this treatment, the "for the children" society will finally decide to leave our kids out of the class warfare fight.

I am a native Californian.I was born in Santa Monica in 1950 but I grew up(I'm still working at it)in Malibu.I really used to love the place but it has changed so much that I no longer recognize it!I think that the main problem(with Calif.)is that too many people moved there!!Too many LIBOCRITES for SURE!!!
To: John Jorsett
Mega-Dittos!The Libs don't want to spread wealth and prosperity, they want to spread misery and poverty because it's only fair!!!

"The governor is trying to dismantle quality education in the state of California," said Loushin-Miller. "It doesn't make sense. Why is it good public policy? It doesn't mean one penny more for my (neighboring district). It just destroys us. . . . It doesn't mean any more money for anybody but the prison system."
Of course it doesn't make sense- it's the Chewbacca defense! Therefore Davis will get away with it.

As Rush so perceptively notes: Democrats are all about spreading the misery around evenly, not ending it. Another way of saying this, in true socialist fashion, is to ensure that there exists sustainable poverty for all; or, as the NEA prefers, sustainable ignorance for all.

When will we demand random drug-testing for government officials? A controversial new program, Aid to Families of Dependent Taxaholics, hopes to address their problems due to term limits and recent corruption convictions in many public sectors...

Good, Davis got anywhere from 60% to 80+% of the vote in the last election in these super rich elitist lilly white Rat areas like the ones in noted in Marin county.
These elitist left wing bastards are all for the rest of us paying taxes for the illegal aliens and Davis's follies. Now Davis being like Robin Hood with their property taxes and school districts.
I will not be shedding any tears for the elitists left wing lunatics in these N. Kali school districts.

Yeah most of these school districts went big time for Davis.
These are the Lexus, Mercedes, big Beamers, Porsche and Jag driving leftwingers. They hate SUVs, God, conservatives and republicans, and most of them voted for Davis at least once this past election.
This is just too funny for words.
