I think his contract had expired at the end of the season and he was a free agent. The Cowboys had no intention of re-signing him. He was a bust.
He's not going to get away with this with a mere slap on the wrist. Jocks sometimes get breaks on drug offenses (although Nate Newton is in prison, and I think Bam Morris is also). But Goodrich certainly will join them. You don't get probation for Felony Hit and Run, and two counts of manslaughter.
Not in Texas. Not for anyone.

I agree, he won't walk away from this.
I also agree he was at least a little tipsy since this occurred at 2:15 am.
This kid is in serious trouble, there will be no more NFL in his life.
