SAN FRANCISCO - The California Department of Corrections has ended its six-year and largely unsuccessful legal battle with the media over witnessing executions in full, a department spokesman said Monday.
The announcement means the media and other witnesses to executions at San Quentin State Prison will watch as executioners walk the inmate to a gurney, strap him down and insert the deadly poison with needles until death.
