It's even more sinister than that. As I understand it, she belonged to a "struggling artists" group that met and shared creative ideas. "All I Wanna Do" was a poem written by a member of that group. She recorded it, unattributed, and the guy killed himself that same year. Nice girl, that Sheryl.....

Actually, the song 'All I wanna Do' is based on a poem she read in a book. The song is almost word for word the same as the poem, and the poet still receives royalties for that song to this day.
'Leaving Las Vegas' isn't ripped off. But she did admit to being high or drunk when she recorded it.
