Amen, Brother! Cops are acting like jack boot Nazis...running around kicking in doors based on an anonymous tip. Maybe they should have staked out the house and once he left the property simply place him under arrest then have him lead them back into the home for a search. Hopefully this will send a message to cops all over the country that this is still AMERICA and the masses still have rights. It's actually weird that more cops haven't been killed breaking down doors. If I was a cop I'd want those inside to know it!

That's just it. Nowadays every little po-dunk town thinks they need a "swat" team because they like all the neato toys and the black jumpsuits. Problem is, they then have to justify all the cost by using them for things that don't need that sort of force.

There are only a handful of professionals that truly have the time, the budget and the training to be a *real* SWAT team, a la the FBI HRT, Navy Seals. Perhaps some of the bigger police departements like LA, NY could devote the right people to this sort of training. But most police departments just buy all the gear, get some MP-5's and black jumpsuits and say they have a "SWAT" team. It's stupid, and all it does is get some good cops and good citizens killed because they're using them in the wrong place at the wrong time and for the wrong reasons.

I make this same comment every time there is a thread regarding no-knock raids. Much safer for everyone to just wait for the suspect to go out in public and then arrest him/her when no one is likely to get hurt.

Actually Mr. Cauthorne had best leave the state and take up residence elsewhere. Police will get revenge.

Yes, and standing outside and yelling "police" doesn't do it either. Any jerk can do that.

here on the delmarva penninsula, a poor woman and family were accosted by six "bounty hunters" looking for a fugitive. they ransacked her house wearing badges that said officer, or agent and terrorized her family...

they told her they could do what the police were unable to do, which was to break in without a warrant...

the police did nothing saying they were within the law.
