Moronic science reporting alert - anybody think that they will be around in 500 MILLION YEARS? 500 million years ago the first fish vertebrates just got started. At that point either Humans will be totally extinct, totally different or totally gone from the Earth or any two of the three above. In other words - I'm really going to lose sleep on this, BIG TIME!

Lets see, who should I believe, a couple of Academia's made out of crazy dirt, or God, who has been around FOREVER!
I think I'll take a chance and bet on God.

I think I'll start making travel plans now. But I won't be traveling by commercial carrier, what with the flight delays and all.

At 8am the oceans will vaporise. At noon after 12 billion years the expanding Sun will engulf the planet, melting away any evidence that it existed. And my 18-year-old college student daughter will have slept through the whole thing.

When did astrobiologists (what do they study anyway?) become experts in this sort of thing? I think we should consult a proffesional ontologist on this question.
