I told my wife to stay away from parks, she had a habit of running into strays. We actually got homes for a couple of 'em.. Now if I just could break her of watching QVC and HSN Shopping channels.

Thanks for caring about animals (Did you now FReeper pets keep the demRats population in check?) .. Well, thatt's just a pet theory of mine anyway ;-)

After all these years with no cats in my life, some jerk threw two kittens out in front of my daughter. I said "no cats in this house" and she gave them away, but one of them got pregnant, and she helped to find homes for the litter. One didn't get taken. That is the tortoise shell cat in the pic.

Later the mom of that cat got pregnant again and the father of the boy she gave it to said he would kill it. We took the pregnant cat in, found homes for all but one of the kitties, had the mom fixed and sent it back to my daughter's friend.

My kids know I take in strays... dogs that are lost, raccoons that are injured, youngsters who are in a crisis with their families.

I guess I should have planned on being a mother to cats at some point.
