I read something a while ago, and it's so true.

"You are the only Bible that some people have read."

I have a large contigent of Christians in one of the most populous churches in the state nearby. The people on Sunday nonetheless are so incredibly rude, in parking, in flipping people off who are in their way, and in their driving.... I'd hate to see them on a day not reserved for worship.

It's not why I'm not a Christian, but it's part.

On behalf of all Christians, I apologize for their behavior.

You need to understand that Christianity is a process.

It starts with acceptance of Jesus which pays the price for your sins and assures you of salvation. That doesn't automatically make you a better person, just forgiven.

As a Christian realizes the great love that God has for us, then their love for God grows, and eventually they seek to be more obedient to Him and to love others the way that He does. But that can take years, or decades. It requires a lot of spirtual discipline, primarily prayer and bible study and practice. And sometimes a Christian doesn't mature at all.

Even the great apostle Paul who wrote most of the New Testament records that he struggled. And you look at some of the great biblical heros, everyone of them had sin. Moses spent over 40 years in the wilderness between the time that God called him until his Character was sufficient to actually proceed with leading Israel out of Egypt. Paul also spent some years in the wilderness learning from Jesus, before he was ready to lead and he still struggled.

As you mature as a Christian, God reveals more and more behavior that's inappropriate. We are called to be transformed into the image of Christ, but it's not a quick process. When the rapture occurs we will be changed and we will be like Him.

But please remember, Jesus is what we aspire to, it's not what we are. In addition to the many immature Christians, there are also people who claim to be Christian who are not.

I'd be glad to address any thing else that causes you to have doubts about Christianity.
