Gotta love it. The 5000+ special districts are the result of municipal governments not willing to live up to their duties and take responsibility for what they were created to do...

For those geographically close to metro areas that is generally true. For those "further out," these are the little governmental entities "closest to the people," and totally ignored, like most governmental agencies by most people.

If people paid the same amount of time and attention to our multi-level government system as they do to earning, then giving up the tax dollars that they are FORCED to support them with, things would get a lot better a lot faster... if you know what I mean.

As Will Rogers said: "Thank God we're not gettin alla the Government we're paying for!"
