Quite a good assessment of where the Democratic Party stands. What sociopolitical countermeasures thereto would you propose?

What counter measures? ... I will cite what Jack Anderson once proposed at the Washington Press Club (paraphrased, of course) : Until a firm majority of the citizens become attentive voters, the sovereignty of this nation remains in doubt; the founders envisioned a nation where the voters were the sovereign power and the elected worked for them.
