That was the Lt. Governer (the late Bob Bullock). Anyhow, we don't have an "assembly" here- we have a House and Senate form of legislature.

TexasBarak, thanks for setting me straight. Was the LTGov the only Dem to endorse Bush? I've told this story (incorrectly) several times and I want to be sure I get it right in the future.
