I have my "bluff" suspicions as well, but the wait is legitimate. The storm that's rolling through is pretty decent, dumping a lit of rain, a little wind, and apparently quite a bit of chop out on the Bay. The San Francisco Bay can be a pretty tough dive in the first place because of the low visibility, swift currents, and cold temperatures, but diving on a day like today would be ASKING for trouble. If it is her body, and it's stayed there over the last several weeks (through more powerful storms), it will still be there tomorrow. There's no need to put any divers lives in danger just so we can answer the question a day sooner.

Could a tethered submersible robot get down there, or would it be thrashed too much? No risk to people that way and an answer sooner...
