After looking at the chart again...the population is incorrect. Idaho has slightly over 1 million...I think?

After looking at the chart again...the population is incorrect. Idaho has slightly over 1 million...I think? The number given is probably just the part of the population aged 0-14, not the whole population.

The population shown is the CDC's estimate of the age cohort under consideration, not the total population. I assume (but don't know for sure) that they are making use of the Y2K census data. BTW, these data are from 2000, so they should be able to use very nearly the raw data from the census. Subsequent years have to be 'massaged' to deal with population changes.
