Speaking of which...I saw a PSA yesterday with Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltrow telling us how we should conserve oil and buy Electric cars so we aren't dependent of foreign oil. They whooped and giggled and I cringed with embarrassmnent for them. Cameron told us that she drives a gas efficient car and said, wow I even save money at the gas station. This from a woman who makes $20 million per picture. I couldn't believe it. I wish someone had asked her how many times this year she was in a limo or jetted around the world in a private plane and how much oil was used on GANGS OF NEW YORK, not to mention the car chases in CHARLIE'S ANGELS. I hate these people.

Cameron Diaz's Porsche and Mercedes been gathering dust in her garage for the past four months? Because these days the stylish actress tools around Tinseltown in a $20,000 Toyota Prius a hybrid car that swings both ways, alternatively guzzling climate-heating gasoline and sipping environmentally-friendly electricity. What the car lacks in class it make up in fuel saving and reduced emissions. "I love my Prius," says Diaz, 29, who reports that the batteries on her luxury cars have both died from neglect. "The Prius is all I drive."

In a suit filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Veronica Cabello and Jorge Arauz claim the 27-year-old actress ran into them on April 24, 1999, at the intersection of Beverly and La Cienega boulevards. They claim Paltrow's rented Mercedes collided with their Nissan Sentra, causing it to slam into another car in front of it, and leaving them with "permanent and serious" back and neck injuries.

"They were waiting for the light, and they got hit from the rear," says their lawyer, James Earle. But, he adds, the actress was very nice about the whole thing. "[Paltrow] got out of the car, apologized and wanted to make sure they were okay, and traded information with them."

The incident allegedly occurred just one month after the waify blonde took home an Oscar for Best Actress in Shakespeare in Love.

Gwyneth Paltrow is causing grief to her neighbours because she gets in such a mood when she can't find a parking space that she leaves her Mercedes on the pavement outside the apartment block.

When the actress can't find a space outside her trendy West Village building, she just abandons her car wherever she fancies and riles the other residents and traffic wardens.

One neighbour said: "When she can't find a space, she consistently parks her silver Mercedes on the sidewalk in front of the deli across the street from her house, forcing everyone to walk around it into the road."
