I'm stunned that you are asking this question after reading the book. Most of the high-end development in the West is now based upon such absentee ownership.

I asked the question in the context of existing public policy and her esteemed position in being able to make it.

I was stunned that someone in that position in a desperately economically depressed region since all resource and ag industries are under seige with only government, tourism and little else to support her economy was griping about one of the leading economic indicators (new housing starts) with all it's ripple and trickle down effects!!!

IMHO, Your classic work "Natural Process," must become the next wave of public policy in this State and Nation!!!

Besides, I wasn't totally certain she had read it through yet. I'm still a recovering "shallow politician" and you must be patient with me... God's not finished with me yet!!!
