There's no way Savage could come out looking good in this one.
Agree. There are one of two ways that these two guys can resolve their differences: one, Barkley and Savage meet in a debate and hash out their issues, or, two, Barkley and Savage meet in a boxing ring and slug it out. In the first scenario Savage savages Barkley by talking too fast for the Round Mound to keep up. In the second, Barkley beats Savage into a bloody pulp. The real question is which event the public would like to see. :-)
Maybe because black sports stars are given more credibility than just about anyone else by the media.
Barkley is not all that bright. He is a colorful personality who is not afraid to express his opinions, however, when challenged, he can rarely offer coherent reasons for his views.
One example was his ridiculous charge that Augusta National was lengthening the golf course in a racist attempt to prevent Tiger Woods from winning the Masters. In reality, lengthening the course inures to ther benefit of a long ball hitter like Tiger at this point in his career, and he won the tournament after the changes were made to the course. Barkley's ludicrous attempt to make the course changes about race (and to interject himself into Tiger's spotlight) showed him for the true buffoon that he is.
Are you kidding? Then he must have been drugged for this show because I heard the show clip and read the transcript and he came across like a moron.
