unless they want a real close view of the war

Agreed!
Being in Iraq the evening of Jan 31st (EST) would not be wise.
Hopefully the "human shields" can all be in place by then.

Wonder if this bad boy will see action this time?

Ahhh....the A-10. Titanium hull. Low, slow, devestating.

That and the F-16 are my favorites!

Wolfpack, Kunsan AFB, '83.

But Hans Blix, in charge of chemical, biological and ballistic arms inspections, and International Atomic Energy Agency director-general Mohamed ElBaradei have made clear their teams have not been in Iraq long enough to uncover any weapons of mass destruction.

Actually, the only places they are going to look are previously known Iraqi weapons sites and the presidential palaces -- exactly the last places Saddam would hide the stuff. A trap door in a Mosque would probably be a good hiding place, since hundreds of people could go in and out without attracting too much suspicion. But even if Blix was willing to going to every mosque (and school, and factory, and hospital) in Iraq looking for secret underground chambers, it would still be looking for an impossible needle in a haystack. The whole UN thing is ridiculous, but I suspect Blair told Bush that if we didn't go the UN route, he wouldn't play. Still, given that there is close to zero chance of getting unanimous Security Council approval for definitive military action on Iraq, I am a bit mystified as why the administration went the UN route.

I'm surprised that the U.N. is admitting this. It's really obvious that they are trying to slow-roll us but they have probably realized that they're being too blatant. I'm betting that we go to war very soon and tell the U.N. to get bent when they cry that their inspectors haven't had enough time.

Sean and Babwa Streisand are clearly the folks to call. I mean, who could know more about weapons and international politics than a couple of movie actors?

Hey! How's about a thriller movie...starring Babwa and Sean as antiwar protestors getting stranded in Baghdad when the bomb's start flying?...and not making it out...alive...could mean acting awards for the two!

[Saddam's] only concern seemed to be ensuring his troops had enough to eat amid tight Iraqi food rations.

Don't worry, Uncle Evil, they'll be on American rations soon enough!

I'd like a documentary much better.
