She is NOT going to get off. She won't. I don't think anyone can defend this. Jesse Jackson won't touch it. Al Sharpton won't touch it. Farrakhan won't touch it. Is she eligible for the death penalty on this one or did the prosecution wimp out? If this wasn't a torture slaying I don't know what was.

I too believe there cannot be such a thing as a hate crime, which in essense is a thought crime. However, we all like to point out that if the races would have been reversed, we would have seen national publicity, Jesse, Al and the other race baiters would have been here trying to use this to thier advantage and we would have seen NAACP commercials about it during the last elections.

With some crimes, such as many instances of theft, the criminal's interest is in benefitting himself; while the crime certainly hurts the victim, that is of no interest to the criminal.
