To: Behind Liberal Lines
I really don't think there are many people going around saying they are pro-war, but I also don't think this is the job of the county Legislature, Blauvelt told his committee Tuesday. Besides, even if we adopted a resolution, no one would listen to us.

Damn. A lib upstate politician who both understands how our government works and also has a lick of common sense. Expect a recall petition to be launched any day now.

He's already been asked to resign:

Cayuga County Legislator Jeffrey Q. Blauvelt's delinquent tax bill is approaching $40,000, and Auburn officials have started the final stages of foreclosure on two of his six city properties. He also faces felony criminal charges in Seneca County, which could force him out of office, and he owes nearly $26,000 in creditor judgments. Since 1995, he has been arrested two other times and convicted twice of misdemeanor crimes.
