As Close As We'll Get To President Limbaugh
Folks, as you know our microphones are everywhere. So as President Bush went through some of the highlights of his economic plan during Tuesday's program we JIPed the speech (Joined In Progress) for a few minutes.
In the audio link below, you can hear my live, spontaneous running commentary on the president's remarks. The thing I want you to do, as you listen, is think about what you've heard from the Democrats since last week the whining and moaning and bellyaching. They didn't even know what was in this proposal and they were attacking it viciously.
On the other hand, here is a man speaking positively and confidently. He's very upbeat about his country and about you - the people who make it work. He talked about tax cuts as a benefit, not a cost. It was a great speech. This could be, my friends, as close as we're ever going to get to me as president of the United States.
Just contrast his view of this country with that expressed by the Democrats and liberals the past four or five days and ask, "Which side would you rather be on, and in which side do you have more confidence in?"
We'll see if the news media gives the same full-frontal coverage to the Bush plan that they gave the Democrat plan on Monday. Right after the speech, the Clinton News Network trotted out John Edwards to criticize the Bush plan. Tom Daschle came right out to bash it as well. I welcome this. I hope they keep it up through the night, because these guys can't hold a candle to Bush. Compared to the president, these guys are all going to look petty and small.

This ego maniac is blovating on the edge of insanity. Who the hell has even considered him as a potential president, other than himself, and maybe David Limbaugh, his brother?
Stick to talk radio Rush. That is your glass ceiling.

You are totally misreading this. Rush is pointing out, and did so in more detail on his radio show that President Bush echoed things in his speech today that Rush has been saying on his show, in almost the exact same words, for years.

He is refering to the President's articulation of conservative values in a positive, uplifting manner, which is what Rush does best.

Yeah, this is all tongue-in-cheek humor. He's never wanted to be President, the first reason being the hellvua pay cut he would have to take! :)

How many times has Rush explained in concise, easily understandable terms, what the clumsy Republicans were either to dense to comprehend, or too cowardly and craven to speak in public? Well, now they have a leader who is neither dense, nor cowardly, nor craven.
To: billhilly
He gets asked to be president often. He doesn't need the cut in pay or wants to go around with his hand out asking for money to run a campaign.
Rush was merely saying that GW is educating and upbeat instead of being doom and gloom like the dims.
Have you ever listened to Rush's show? You apparently don't understand his tongue in cheek humor.

Who the hell has even considered him as a potential president, other than himself, and maybe David Limbaugh, his brother? The thought had crossed my mind and the minds of my parents. Is it so revolting an idea? I have a much worse idea--a corrupt Arkansas governor. Now how does Rush loook?

Petty and small? Rush gives them far too much credit here. Corrupt and greedy is more accurate.
These marxists have been living off the fatted calf of an overtaxed American populace for far too long. It's high time the public stands up to these socialist, robber baron liars, and throw them all out of office. The light of truth CAN set us free!
Organize, organize, organize!

Wow. A Rush-oriented thread that is not all variations of "I used to listen to him a long time ago, before he sold out. Now I listen mainly to
real conservatives, who can only be found on 11.7 meters, right-hand circular polarization..."
By the way TLB, are you sure you're not you-know-who? Just kidding.

It took some time to decide which post to answer. Let me answer yours. Pay cut, huh? Were you alive when Nelson Rockefeller was Vice President? Do you know the meaning of noblesse oblige?
I'm guessing overtime is a big concept around your house.

Keeping President Bush and the Republicans Feet to the Fire.......If the people running the home find out you have been playing with a book of matches, you won't get any apple sauce for dessert.....I hate to think what might dribble on your chin and bib instead.

Rush is right of course, but I think he forgets the malignant ignorance of those who only "hear" RAT talk. Anything the president says is going to be run through their "liberal" filtering device. These are the sheeple who cruise around on the RAT bus on election day from one polling place to the next with their $10 balled up in their dirty little fists shouting "voter intimidation" when asked for ID which might catch them voting multiple times. He, nor we, should ever underestimate them.

It took some time to decide which post to answer. Let me answer yours. Pay cut, huh? Were you alive when Nelson Rockefeller was Vice President? Nelson Rockefeller the RINO took the post six months after I was born. I wasn't politically aware until the third grade. :)
Do you know the meaning of noblesse oblige?
I submit the term would apply much more to Hillary than Rush; although she is only noblesse in her own mind. :)
I'm guessing overtime is a big concept around your house.
What kind of non sequitur is that? Anyway, I wasn't the first, and I won't be the last, to tell you that Rush really doesn't want the job, because we believe the guy when he says it. He hasn't been deliberately deceitful with the public, unlike some already in office.
