God speed to all of our nation's military being sent in harm's way anywhere in the world. We love you, are proud of you, and are eternally grateful to you.

Our prayers and love for the safety of our troops; hugs to their families. Does anyone have an address where we can send gifts to the troops - books, playing cards, candy, etc.?

You can use this link to send emails to a service member. I'm not sure they're allowing care packages yet--perhaps someone at the Canteen would know.

"Thousands of U.S. troops bound for the Persian Gulf shipped out from both coasts on Monday for a possible war with Iraq."

I doubt thousands. Maybe a couple hundred (if even that), but not thousands.

No. Thousands.
"In San Diego, 4,000 Marines and sailors set sail on a six-month voyage that will put them within striking distance of Iraq. Family members wiped away tears and waved to loved ones standing behind the rails of the USS Tarawa some 20 stories above the pier. "
Jeesh.

The Pentagon has indicated it plans to deploy as many as 250,000 soldiers in the Gulf region; at least 50,000 are already there.

More are shipping out every day lately.

WHY IS IT THAT NO ONE IS LISTENING WHEN WE TELL PEOPLE NOT TO POST MILITARY INFORMATION HERE.

AS MUCH AS WE WANT TO WISH THEM GODSPEED, LET'S KEEP OUR MOUTHS SHUT AND BRING THEM HOME ALIVE INSTEAD!!!

With all due respect, the posted article came from Fox News online, and the info is hardly a secret in that the DOD is making public announcements of troop deployments.
