[history]
For almost two weeks, more than 1,000 people have signed up to pass out fliers or to search neighborhoods for Laci Peterson, the pregnant woman who disappeared Christmas Eve.
Most of the volunteers have never met each other, nor have they met Peterson. Yet they are so dedicated that their work has reached from Modesto west to the Bay Area, east to Yosemite National Park, north to Sacramento and as far south as Mexico.

Modesto Police call for additional public assistance for Laci Peterson Laci Peterson's husband, Scott Peterson, reportedly last saw his wife at 9:30 on Christmas Eve morning. Scott left the family residence in his pickup truck, hooked the boat up at another location and went to a marina in Berkley for a fishing trip. The truck is a 2002, Ford F150 pickup, bronze in color, with California license 6T59718. The boat is a 1991, 14-foot aluminum boat and trailer with a 15 horsepower outboard motor. Police are trying to corroborate Scott's trip to the Berkley area. Please contact Detective Craig Grogan at (209) 572-9551 if you can provide information that would assist in this matter.

This case is a puzzle but the pieces are coming togeather slowly. No stone is being neglected, the LE officers are with-holding some evidence that only the aductor will know.

Here's something new, according to this article:
"Peterson first knew something was wrong when he saw their dog still on its leash in the backyard and Laci wasn't home. Police say the dog's leash was covered with mud, it had walked for some time on its own. The dog was trailing its leash when a neighbor found the dog earlier in the day and put it in the yard."

All right already, there is no evidence in the truck, it is time to give Scott his truck back so he can get around.

This is such a sad case, I hope it has a happy ending. Prayers for that dear lady, her unborn child, husband and family members.

OK you're added. Now where did they announce that there was no evidence in the truck?

I hope they are using Laci's own dog for some of the search. The dog w/ the mud covered leash is haunting. Could it be possible that BOTH Laci and the dog were in a vehicle, now submerged, from which the dog escaped?
Maybe the dog got away from her and she hurriedly took the car to search for it. She certainly could not have run after the creature. One doesn't always grab a purse in such circumstances. Is it hilly there?
