WHILE the California Coastal Commission may be temporarily under water, it appears in little danger of being washed out to sea.
The Legislature should be able to quickly mount a rescue in the wake of a recent court ruling that the commission is unconstitutional.

I like the idea of elected commissioners, if for nothing else but the freak show tug of war between the limosine liberals and the rest of the liberals. Anyway, we do need to preserve the CA coastline in case we might could live here freely again one day.

The Coastal Commission is one of the most corrupt quasi-governmental institutions in California. Essentially they are there to take bribes, strip property owners of their rights, and help out their developer cronies. Because they operate mostly under the radar, they are pretty shameless about conflicts of interest, bribery, etc. For example the CC board and its friends recently made a bundle off of the stadium being built in San Diego at taxpayer expense.
