Just remember; if Lizzie Grubman had been driving that car, even if a death had occurred, she would have gotten off with maybe 90 days instead of the 30 she served. And she's about 30 years old, and this kid is 18.

OK. What if Jenna had been driving the car? Would she be in jail for attempted murder? Or would the police perhaps consider that she didn't know she had backed into anyone? The worst charge would be involuntary manslaughter. Right?

Thanks for the update. Restaurants need to have procedures in place for employees to follow when this kind of thing happens. People skipping out on their bill is more common than most realize.

Ordinarily this is absolutely true. It remains to be seen if the vile ands evil PC behavior is at work here. The driver's name "Froust" seems northern european. The beautiful murdered girl is chicano.

True story:

two other fraternity brothers decide to "dine n dash" at dennys. One leaves. The other tries to leave, but the bike he borrowed breaks a crank as he tries to leave...just as a cop pulls in for dinner. haha.

So he goes to jail for about six days. hey, 18 free meals!!!

They sure do... When I was a waiter back in college, there was a TGI Friday's across the parking lot from where I used to wait tables. We'd go there after work for a drink or two..

Anyway, there was a waitress that worked at Friday's that had a table of FOUR start to walk out on their bill. When she chased them down, the foursome said they didn't have any money for the bill. The waitress asked "Why did you come here without any money?" The Foursome replied, "We didn't realize that your food cost so much." The waitress said,"You should have gone to McDOnalds then."

The foursome, promptly went to the Manager and complained that the Waitress was being racist (yeah you guessed it), implying that blacks can only afford cheap food.

End of the story? The waitress was fired.

This is somewhat off topic, but my experience has been that when I'm driving down the highway at 50, 60, or even 70 MPH and someone is tailgating me at those speeds, it is invariably a young female.
Even given several chances to safely pass me she will continue tailgating.
What's up with that?

Standing BEHIND a car that is backing up?

How about standing to the side?

How about cameras in the parking lot?

How about putting Leg Irons on the customers and opening them up after they pay? We will need a Federal Law requiring every restaurant to do this to "level the playing field"... this would most importantly serve as an opportunity to identify those who publicly intoxicated so they can be given citations and or sent to jail...

Interesting. As I told MnM yesterday, my son used to be a server and then a bartender at a TGI Fridays and they had walk-outs all the time. He went after a number of people in the parking lot before I found out about it. I told him he wasn't worth it.

If I were a server/bartender I would get every big guy I could to go with me before I went after even one deadbeat.

Darwin, Smarwin! These young people work hard for their pay and tips (mostly tips), and when someone stiffs them it's understandable they get PO'd and try to handle it themselves.
