What do these 43 states understand the six antigun states fail to reconize?

The State of Michigan in under two years has permitted 85,000 Michigan citizens and not a single misuse by citizens with the right to carry a concealed handgun.

As a population group, Citzen Carry owners allways committ less crime than any other statistical group, including law enforcement officers.

At the close of the 2002 legislative session, Michigan firearms owners were successful in passing an enhancement to their recently passed "Right to Carry". This reform legislation benefits carry permit holders in several ways.

This bill, which has now been signed by Governor Engler (R), removes most restaurants that serve alcohol as "gun-free zones," extends the carry permit from three to five years, and removes non-violent misdemeanors as disqualifiers under the permitting process.

As Michigan?s Shall-Issue law went into effect on July 1, 2001, NRA-ILA?s success in moving reform legislation just 16 months later is a testament to the overall success of the new system and the fact that with over 85,000 new permits in the state, there has not been a single reported incident of a permit holder misusing a firearm while carrying concealed.

Where is this wild west Syndrome???

It is clearly stated that CCW owners who have carry guns commit less crime than the population in general, even less crime that (LEO's) Law enforcement officers.

What do these 43 states with CCW laws KNOW that cities of Washington DC, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri, don't know??

Thank you Michigan Citizen Carry owners showing your responsibility which should have never been doubted.

California as a "May Issue" CCW law. Unless you live in a county with a sheriff that respects the 2nd A., you're not getting a CCW. So, I'm not sure that California "knows" anything more than some of the other states that have "shall issue" laws.

But, what does Ted Kennedy and Babs Streisand have to say on this subject?

You missed Maryland, where handguns now require a built in trigger-guard. There are six available.

And New Joisey, a**h**e of the US who wants electronic ID built into handguns, no matter it doesn't exist.

We need a good Supreme Court ruling to eliminate most of these "laws".

We had a governor in Kansas who was elected in part because he promised to sign a concealed carry law. Some how when the bill was put in front of him......he forgot that promise. Imagine that! Now we have a wimp democrat who is about to take office and there is NO chance that a bill will even be introduced, let alone passed for cc. Keep us KS freepers in your prayers.

We have to wait until one of the libs or moderates retires from the Supreme Court. We'll stand a better chance of getting what we need when that happens. I think the reason the media is so eager to force the issue now is they know that this is their best chance to have a anti-gun ruling.

Wait until one of the U.S. Supreme Court justices retires and then ask a Kansas resident to file a suit against the state based on your Second Amendment in your State Constitution.

I went to a gun show in Montgomery County today where there were plenty of guns available. They were all manufactured before Jan 1, 2003. They won't last long, so get them while you can. Once the available stock is gone you won't be able to get anything else but those six.

Hopefully, Minnesota will drop off of the list of 6. We just overturned the demoRAT majority in state legislature, and elected a pro gun governor. "There is a God!" Things should finally be made right here this year. Good luck to all others in their battles.

You left out New Jersey. It does not and never will, have a concealed carry law. Only the police, and bodyguards to rich liberal maggots and state judges can get carry permits.

Wsahington, D.C. - well, they re-elected pot-head Marion Barry didn't they?

Illinois? That state is dominated by Democratic, liberql Chicago and its environs.

New York? Hahahaha. You can get longer time there foir defending yourself with a weapon than your attacked will. But then. New York City, like New Jersey, is hardly part of the U.S. anymore anyway.

Los Angeles?? The illegal alien center of the west? No surprise there. Of course most voters there oppose guns. Besides, the illeglas don't ollow laws anyway, and couldn't even read them if they wanted to.

Wisconsin, Ohio, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri. Surprises me there. But then Wisconsin has a large college population, Kansas has Kansas City, and Missoouri has Kansas City.
Iowa?? They do strnage things with corn out there, don't they?

Minnesota, the land of the liberal Swedes, Norweigans, et al? No surprise there either.

Wisconsin has a serious shall-issue effort in play. Their bill passed the House, but was killed in committee in the Senate.

Ohio has a shall-issue effort in play. And a fascinating effort going on in the courts. The current Ohio law forbidding concealed carry was ruled unconstitutional, and the decision was upheld on appeal. If the legislature doesn't pass a permitting bill, Ohio may soon be a Vermont-carry state.

Minnesota's shall-issue bill passed the House overwhelmingly last session, and failed in the Senate on a tied vote. We've picked up 5-6 pro-gun seats in the Senate, and even our enemies think we're going to win this time.

The best source for Minnesota political insider gossip ( The Minnesota Players Page says this:

As the session opened protestors greeted legislators. People carrying pink signs lined the stairway into the Senate Chamber. This was a gathering of anti-gun protestors who seek to prevent conceal and carry legislation. With the change in the make-up of the membership in both the Senate and the House it is expected both bodies will pass a conceal and carry bill. The futile effort is another example of how people are failing in understanding the earth has shifted.

There also was an anti-war on the poor protest. This contained many of the usual suspects and seemed like a person could close their eyes and think this was the 1970’s all over again. While the protestor’s shouted, “Hey politicians, Stop the War. Take from the Rich and not the Poor.” It was unclear if this was an anti-war with Iraq protest, an anti-war on the Poor protest or both.

Whatever it was we doubt it had much impact on the newly elected Republican members other than to prove there are a number of unique people in St. Paul.

Have you seen the new 8-shot S & W revolver in .357 -- reviewed in the latest issue of "Handguns??"

It has an "internal lock as well, and may be too new to have been counted......

No, I dropped my gun subs. and still don't even know what I need to do to transport a handgun now. Last time I heard my eyes glazed over in disbelief. S & W is out of the question.

We need some smart criminals to "take names of anti-gunners" and realize there's a plum waiting to be picked. "Smart criminal"??
