When you actually look at Benedict Arnold...after his great episodes at both Saratoga and Fort Stanwick...he deserved Generals rank. But the congress would not authorize it because they felt his state already had their allotment of generals (2) and they refused to promote him to the rank of General. All of the various in-fighting in congress didn't help his case either. And toward the end...his marriage to a pro-British 'lady', the hopeless campaigns that the Americans suffered through after Stanwick, and almost no action by Washington...led him to believe the war could not be won by the Americans. If the British stayed long-term, they would eventually wear the Americans out and money support would be dissolved at some point. He was proven wrong because of massive French support (troops, ships, money) and one great tactical campaign that Washington won. Oh, and I should mention that the King's court and the British Parliament decided, against the King of course, that the war was not winnable.
Arnold was one of the three best military minds in the American army...hands down. And he actually rode in battle with his men...something that was rare then, and is rare today. I will give him that credit. Wesley Clark does not match up to Arnolds capabilities.

Not only do I fart in clark's general direction, I will spew a load of Copenhagen on his face at the earliest opportunity. A nasty habit, my last, which I need to kill my flesh to.

I suppose that those BFVs and M88 could pass for a tank. Maybe, but those M728 Combat Engineer Vehicles can't pass for an M88 Tracked Vehicle Retriever.
The M88 VTR [M88A3 most recent version] lacks the turret with the L9A1 165mm demolition gun found on those CEVs, among other things. No M88's in that pic.

Thank you for your most excellent list of the depraved actions of Wesley Clark, the Butcher of Kosovo.

Thanks for the post. I firmly believe based on all the evidence at our disposal (so far) that the FBI, and the other jackbooted thugs with them that day, MURDERED those children at WACO. Let me tell you - if I were a young trooper present at Waco that day, I would have REFUSED any orders to attack that compound on moral grounds. All of those men who participated should be put in chains and thrown in a dungeon for life. Tyranny lives in America.

I finally figured out why the Davidians had to be destroyed. Like so many violent deaths these days, it had to do with DRUGS. The Davidians under Koresh stopped playing the drug game - that always gets people killed, along with their families. Great theory, but doesn't explain the FBI and Army willingness to become accomplices in the massaccre of women and children.
Koresh had been arrested and tried on politically motivated charges before, and had won his court case, and was expecting more of the same from the feds. Accordingly, he developed information on FBI and BATF involvement in criminal activities that would have been suicidal for those agencies had it been revealed, during court proceedings or otherwise.
What was the biggest event in Texas in that closing decade of the century? Certainly the murder and incineration of those Branch Davidians, just because koresh had to be silenced. And what was the biggest story in Texas of that century? Certainly the assassination of President Kennedy in Dallas, on 22 November, 1963, and the involvement of the FBI and BATF [then called ATTU] before, during, and after that date.
Connect the dots. Note that the rifle Oswald supposedly used could not be found until BATF/ATTU Agent Frank Elison arrived in the Book Depository to *help* the Sheriff's investigators determine where it was located- on the fourth floor, according to his testimony. Note the location of six other ATTU agents at the book depository that day, with their Treasury badge and credentials resembling those of the Secet Service, and see if you can figure out who it was that prevented anyone from interfering with those who passed from the *grassy knoll* area to the railyard behind the depository building- and why.
And note the details of the Secret Service agent shot [and reported as killed] that day, by a revolver identical to the one Oswald supposedly used on DPD Officer Jefferson Davis Tippet. Pretty soon, the FBI and BATF will want you dead too....

Excellent post. I have always held (vehemently) that the war on Serbia was a crime. They used the claim of genocide against the Serbs to justify their bombardment - but we have since learned that there was no genocide. It was a lie. Clinton gave "moral" reasons for attacking Serbia (the irony here is so rich it boggles the mind), but not one single pinhead in the media bothered to ask Clinton why his same moral reasoning did not apply to Rwanda or Sudan! Quite obviously, the reasons for attacking were not moral. They were political. But, what was the specific nature of the machinations behind the Serbia attack? Inquiring minds want to know! I am grateful that I ended my service under Reagan in 1986. However, if I had been in the USMC when Clinton came to office, I would have left the service - I could not serve under such an evil and odious man as Clinton. Even if it meant a dishonorable discharge it would make no difference, because in my eyes and heart, my departure would be honorable and my integrity intact. I have contempt all of those U.S. pilots who followed Clinton's orders in bombing Serbia. Let us remember, they did not allow the Nuremberg criminals to hide behind Hitler. Every man makes his own moral choices.

Isn't Clark the officer that Col. Hackworth called one of the "perfumed princes"?

"An expert in thermal imaging and videotape, Ghigliotti told the House Government Reform Committee in October that his analysis of tapes at Waco indicated that an FBI agent fired shots at the compound on April 19, the final day of the siege--a view disputed by the FBI. "
There was a thread perhaps a year ago about a technical conference where somebody analyzed the lighting and came to a similar conclusion. Let me know if you need me to look for it.

Pretty soon, the FBI and BATF will want you dead too.... They might already. ;-)
I don't know much about the Kennedy assasination, but I do know that you are right that Koresh knew about crimes committed by the Feds, and I am almost 100% sure it had to do with the narcotics industry (and maybe other sundry crimes). I know a man from Waco who had some business associations with the Davdians. They threatened to kill him, too, because he was getting too close to the truth of Waco. He no longer lives there, and stopped digging for the truth. According to him, it all had to do with the power struggle within the cult between Koresh and a friend of the Feds who was a drug trafficker. Koresh won the power struggle within the cult, but he underestimated the determination of his rival's Fed. associates. Who knows how deep it goes?

" remember, Benedict Arnold was a better soldier than he is."
FYI- A&E is premiering "Benedict Arnold,A Question of Honor", a made for tv movie, on Monday. Don't know how good it will be, but I thought A&E's, "the Crossing", about Washington crossing the Delaware, was very well done.
