President Bush headed to Ft. Hood, Texas today to rally and to thank the many troops who serve from their home base. Bush used the opportunity to tout the military spending bill, as well as to once again assure all that we will win the war on terror. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: Some crucial hours may lie ahead. We know the challenges and the dangers we face. If this generation of Americans is ready, we accept the burden of leadership, we act in the cause of peace and freedom. And in that cause, we will prevail.

Thank you for your service. May God bless you, may God bless your families, and may God bless America.

Congratulations!! I watched most of it. More fun to watch a game like that when you're not being emotionally involved.

Rintense Thanks for posting the "Dose" I posted my take on Bush's speech at Fort Hood earlier tonight on another thread, I originally wanted to post it here on your thread, SO HERE IT IS

----------------------------------------------------------

Today at work I listened to President Bush give his speech to the troops at Fort Hood, Texas. I thought it was great speech and from the sounds of the whooping and hollering throughout the speech, the troops must have thought so also. I concluded that, once again, President Bush made me proud to be an American.

When I got home I saw a few clips from the speech so I decided to go online and watch it on C_Span. After watching it, my respect for this man has grown even more. He was in front of a bunch of young men and women that would probably be placed in harms way and it was clear that it was weighing heavy on his emotions. He knows that some of these fine young men and women might not come home and the weight of his decision was written all over his face. I can’t help but feel for this man and I thank God we have him as our President

I’m a grown man who doesn’t get choked up too often. But to see him fight back his tears today was tough for me to watch. There is no doubt in my mind that this President understands what he is about to ask our brave young men and women to undertake and to see his heart on his sleeve put me on bended knee asking the Lord to give him the strength and wisdom he needs to guide this nation through these tough times.

I don’t think I have ever had more respect for a human being in my life, as I have for George W. Bush, He has earned my respect and he has my prayers as he carries out the duties of his office and the charge he has pledged to keep. During his Inaugural Speech, George W. Bush said the following:

”We are not this story’s author, who fills time and eternity with his purpose. Yet his purpose is achieved in our duty, and our duty is fulfilled in service to one another.

Never tiring, never yielding, never finishing, we renew that purpose today, to make our country more just and generous, to affirm the dignity of our lives and every life.”

___________________________________________________________

”This work continues. This story goes on. And an angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm.”

If I could thank George W. Bush for anything, I would thank him for asking an angel to direct this storm.

God Bless You! George W. Bush
