Good post. But why do you propose to start this process with the legalization/decriminalization of drugs?

Why not elimination of the NEA? HHS? HUD? Take your pick among a myriad of alphabet agencies.

It just seems a bit silly to make such a noble effort to return to a Constitutional government by starting with a campaign that has as it's slogan, "I want to smoke dope".

Because that is the linchpin for the conservatives. The drug war is the one thing that makes them complicit in the liberal's abuse of the commerce clause. Get that out of the way, and we can attack the root cause of the problem. Going after individual agencies is simply attacking the symptoms and ignoring the problem. If we absolutely have to have a federal drug war, then let's do it right, and pass an amendment.

Hell, it was the first article that caught my attention today, its not like I have all my responses preplanned.

If you put the sword in my hand those alphabet soup agencies would fall like wheat to the scythe too.

It is good and righteous to foment grief and a gnashing of teeth amongst beauraucrats, tormenting them raises an appealing odor up to the heavens :)

I consider it my duty to vote against government expansion and for shrinkage always, and to deny them every penny I legally can in taxes and to assist my clients in avoiding their money sucking tentacles.
