The Al-Aksa Brigades announced last night that one of their members had murdered a Jew - and today the victim's body was found, burnt beyond recognition, next to his car. Masoud Alon, 70, of Menachemiya - a community between the Jordan Valley and the Kinneret Sea - was reported missing yesterday. A massive search involving hundreds of police, soldiers and volunteers was then undertaken, and helicopters, ATV's, and dogs were also utilized. The body was found this afternoon in an area not frequented by Jews, some 50 kilometers to the south of the victim's home.

A suicide-murder attack was thwarted last night when Nachshon Battalion soldiers shot to death a Palestinian terrorist carrying a large bomb on his back. The force had received an intelligence warning of a likely attempt by a suicide terrorist to leave Shechem and carry out an attack in a Jewish area. The soldiers in fact detected and fired at the terrorist, setting off the explosives and killing him on the spot. In the nearly two months that the IDF's Operation Wheels of Momentum has been in effect around Shechem, no terrorists have succeeded in passing through to the other side of the Green Line.

A Duvdevan undercover unit abducted in Hevron today the Arab terrorist responsible for the Sabbath attack in Otniel in which four yeshiva students were murdered. The leader of the local Islamic Jihad branch, he was taken to a General Security Service installation for interrogation… Arab terrorists fired at a group of workers constructing the partition fence/wall north of Tul Karem this afternoon. No one was hurt, and the attackers fled…

IDF operations last night took place in the following areas:
* - East of Tul Karem, where the forces arrested two wanted terrorists and three other Arabs wanted for questioning. The soldiers found weapons and ready-to-detonate explosives during the course of the arrests.
* - Ramallah, after Arab gunfire was directed at Psagot, a Jewish community adjacent to Ramallah/El Bireh. No one was hurt. This was the first time in many months that Psagot had been targeted. Later today, a Ramallah man was killed in an explosion - apparently that of a bomb he was preparing for the purpose of murdering Israelis.
* - Gaza, where two troops were lightly wounded when Arabs threw small bombs at the soldiers from a passing car. Israeli forces, covered by combat helicopters, attacked three targets.
* - Elsewhere in Yesha, eight other terrorist suspects, including a long-wanted leader of Fatah's military wing, were also arrested during the night.

From another article:

-"Mahlouf Elon, a resident of Moshav Menahemya, regularly traveled to the Israeli-Arab village of Tubas - where his abandoned vehicle was found Thursday - to hand out clothes to the children who live there, his son Yaacov told Israel Radio."-

That's what he was doing when some "palestinian" animals decided to murder him and torch his body.
