This is almost certainly related to union activity and anger at layoffs.

The areas mentioned are western suburbs of Philadelphia

When phone company workers went on strike in NYC a few years back, you could not find a working payphone after a while. The majority had been vandalized or sabotaged

Thanks for the ping......interesting..... at least it was a small number - think of the damage they "could" do..........

We had 5000 phone line cut at DFW airport (cargo sections) once back in 97. Seems that some dude took a pickup truck and wrapped chains around an unsecured junction box. Phone service was gone for about 2-3 days.

OH....... I can imagine what trouble that caused! Were you all using your own cell phones in between times?
Anyone who hasn't been to DFW airport couldn't even imagine how large it is..........

Only 150 or so lost service -- for almost a day -- during the Newtown incident. About 3,000 total have been affected by the vandalism so far.

Do you ever listen to 101.5 out of Jersey? Great talk radio station..... 10am to 2pm is Denis and Judy..... he is pretty anti-union...... and gets some funny calls when they discuss unions.......... it's worth tuning in to........

Were you all using your own cell phones in between times? Something like that but it almost shut down all of the cargo businesses and definately slowed EVERYTHING to a crawl.

Do you ever listen to 101.5 out of Jersey? I just tried it. I got some static-filled rock station. What part of Jersey is it from?

I just tried it. I got some static-filled rock station. What part of Jersey is it from? The correct way to phrase that question is as follows: What exit would one take to get to the broadcasting tower for FM 101.5?

Anyone who hasn't been to DFW airport couldn't even imagine how large it is.......... Or how dangerous! I was on a layover there once and stayed on the plane. I watched the food and luggage carts whipping around there barely dogging the planes! The pride of Texans was in abundance... I was VERY glad when our plane got into the air in one piece!
Haven't seen you around lately. Hope you had a great Christmas!

LOL..... great thanks.....how was yours? Any movement on the house?
To: WhyisaTexasgirlinPA
I went back to look at it and the family next door had just put up their back lot (adjoining the house we wanted) on the market as commercial real estate. They are trying to attract a small strip mall. We are no longer interested. We looked at one house in Quakertown, really Spinnerstown, but it's not what my husband wanted. Then I fell and twisted my knee. I struggle walking, so I'm not going to spend Jan. getting the house ready to sell. Words do not convey my frustration! However, we had a good Christmas! I have learned that everything ultimately works out. Maybe the house we're supposed to have just isn't ready yet!

The perps should be found, arrested, convicted and sent to jail to spend social hours with their democratic friends.
